Wind Turbines Power
Wind Energy is the world's fastest growing renewable energy sector and utilising wind power is becoming more accessible for everyone.
Wind energy is a form of solar energy - as long as the sun shines the wind blows! Sunlight falls on oceans and continents causes air to warm and rise, which in turn generates surface winds. The wind spins the blades, which in turn produces electricity.
By choosing wind energy you:
Help the environment - wind turbines produce no air pollution
Reduce energy dependence on the grid Reduce costs
Allow for remote electricity generation
Wind energy is one of the most economical sources of new electricity available today. Energi wind turbines are robust, reliable, elegant and efficient and can help you maximise your investment.
Financial benefits of wind energy
Your green energy choice can also make excellent financial sense, depending on your wind resource:
a small wind energy system can lower your electricity bill by 50%-100%
minimise set up costs for off-grid power
reduces the expenditure on fossil fuels
turn an under-utilised location or resource into a source of energy generation and revenue
Wind energy systems not only help customers reduce their electricity purchases from utilities, they also help reduce dependence on fossil fuels, and they are non-polluting.
Over its life, a small residential turbine can offset approximately 1.2 tons of air pollutants and 200 tons of greenhouse gases.

Energy Systems
All Energi turbines (supplied by Proven Energy) are available in three standard systems, which manage how the electricity produced is used.

Grid Connect
The electricity produced is fed directly into your fuse box or distribution board, providing power to your premises. Any surplus electricity produced can be exported to the grid, dependent upon local regulations and potentially sold to an electricity provider. Convenience and the opportunity to sell excess electricity have made this the most popular system. For more information on local regulations why not contact us, fill in a few details and a local reseller will answer your queries.

Battery Charging
Energy produced by the turbine is stored in a large battery, to provide a power supply. This is most beneficial in remote locations which are not connected to the grid, or which rely on a diesel / oil generator. Installing a turbine can reduce fuel consumption by up to 95% and payback for such sites can be almost instant not to mention the positive environmental impact of no longer using fossil power generation.

Direct Heating
Energy produced by the turbine is directed to hot water tanks, storage heaters or under-floor heating, rather than providing electricity to feed into your power supply.
Whether you are interested in reducing domestic electricity bills, powering a telecom's site on the top of a hill, or generating green electricity to power your business Energi can work with you to find a sustainable energy solution that fits your needs.

Product Benefits
Robust
We provide the worlds only robust, low maintenance turbine and work across a number of key market segments with clients to ensure their specific electricity generation needs are met.
Energi turbines supplied by Proven Energy have undergone rigorous testing in diverse climates and conditions. The system works with nature and not against it like upwind turbines the result is that you get the most out of most any wind speed to maximise your investment.
Design
The Flexible Blade System enables the turbine to generate power in light or strong winds. The unique system, a combination of innovative design and the latest techniques in advanced composite technology, allows the blades to bend and flex.
Sustained performance maximises your investment, as the wind gets stronger, the blades twist to reduce their aerodynamic efficiency. This allows the Energi turbine to keep a high output even in the fiercest storms, unlike many turbines which need to stop producing to protect themselves in high wind speeds. The blades will also regulate their speed, preventing damage, should there be any disconnection of load from the turbine, due to a power cut or electrical fault.
Low Noise
A Proven Energy turbine is designed to minimise noise and maintenance. Our wind turbine has a direct drive generator, which operates without a gearbox. The generator load is continuously monitored to keep the blades rotating at a low speed, whilst optimising power output. Energi turbines have one of the lowest blade tip speeds of modern small turbines, minimising sound.
The result is that noise from the turbine is reduced to the swish of blades turning in the wind, virtually unnoticeable compared with background sound.
Low Maintenance
Energi provide designed controllers to run the system automatically and display power output from the turbine, without the need for you to have specialist skills. The power connectors and turbine brake are easily accessible at the base of the mast. On installation you will receive an easy to follow user guide, which will tell all about your turbine.
Funding - UK
The Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform's (BERR) low carbon buildings programme provides grants for householders.
Grants are available for microgeneration technologies including: solar photovoltaic, wind turbines, small scale hydro, solar water heating, heat pumps and bioenergy. The programme will also fund renewable CHP, micro CHP and fuel cells.
Please see the low carbon buildings programme website for more information.
Funding - Scotland
The Scottish Community Householder Renewable's Initiative (SCHRI ) provides grants for properties in Scotland. This is funded by the Scottish Executive and managed by the Energy Saving Trust.
Grants are available for solar water heating, solar thermal space heating, small scale wind and hydro systems, ground source heat pumps and biomass. Funding for householders is set at 30% of the installed cost up to £4,000.
If you live in Scotland you can choose to have a SCHRI or a low carbon buildings programme grant. However, you can only apply for one grant per technology from either of these programmes. You cannot have a grant from both programmes for one technology.
Please see the SCHRI website for more information or call the SCHRI Hotline on 0800 138 8858.
